Bushman mosquito repellent was developed during the 80's by Tom Bethurem, an Australian chemist living in Australia's northern swamplands, notorious for extremely difficult mosquito and insect conditions. Bushman was tested and improved over many years in these extremely difficult conditions, to ensure maximum protection and best performance in the harshest environments.

Since Bushman was made available to the Australian and New Zealand markets in the early 1990s, sales have steadily increased to become the best-selling insect repellent on the market.

Bushman is gentle on the skin, has a pleasant and neutral scent, and contains hypoallergenic ingredients to ensure customer satisfaction and effectiveness. The active ingredient in Bushman is DEET, which is recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) as the most effective mosquito repellent on the market. DEET was developed in the USA to protect against insect-borne diseases in tropical environments, and is approved for use in Sweden by the Swedish Chemicals Agency (Reg. No. 5392/5393/5394). Bushman provides long-lasting protection against insects such as mosquitoes, midges, ticks, flies and other airborne insects, up to 10 hours, and has been shown in tests to be the most effective protection against insects in Australia.
