Hornady CX™ has a lead-free construction and is designed for effective shock action and deep expansion. The bullet holds together and expands consistently at both high and low velocities. CX™ is the successor to Hornady GMX, which for many years has been one of the most popular and reliable copper bullets on the market.
Hornady uses a copper alloy with 5% zinc in its copper balls. This makes the material in CX™ similar to that in the jacket of traditional bullets (tombak). The advantage is easier gun care and more even pressure, as pure copper produces coatings in the barrel more quickly. At the same time, you avoid varying material in the barrel when switching between different types of bullets.

Plastic tip with Heat Shield®, of the same type as in the ELD-X bullet. Extremely heat resistant which maintains the shape and ballistic coefficient of the bullet in the air between barrel and target.
